Saving Tinker

Rescue 101:
January 16, 2008--Blackshear,GA

Meet Tinker, Tinker was rescued off of Knox Rd. in Blackshear. She was put out in the rain and a resident called and reported it to HARP. HARP has took care of Tinker and she is in a loving home now. Can you believe someone would throw away such a beautiful girl? Me neither. She doesn't have to worry about being thrown anywhere anymore.

This is Tinker NOW,

Do you think she is spoiled or what....

Helping a Family with a Cat in Need
Rescue101:

July 4, 2007--Waycross,GA

HARP had an email from a Jackie Prescott  in Waycross,GA that was asking for help with her 8 yr old, female, spayed cat named Sugar. Sugar was having problems with eating and losing weight fast.

Asking for advice on what she could do, since they were not able to afford to take Sugar to the vet right then. Thinking ahead, Mrs Prescott said "We haven't got money to get her to a vet and then do not know what to expect fee wise, if I did get to set some aside somehow for her". Well when HARP recieved this email, Kurt Hawkins (President) took it and forwarded this cry for help to the rest of the members in search of  some quick answers. Based on what Mrs Prescott quoted,"Can you help refer me to a vet that would work with us on monthly payments", Harley Kirkland(active member) went to work on finding some resources, she being a caring person offered 100.00 dollars towards the vet care out of her own pocket. Then after further research found a vet in Waycross( Southpaw Animal Clinic) that would take Sugar for a small fee and do a check-up and what ever the balance was on the bill, work with them with payments. Well with this great information Mrs Prescott jumped to the oppurtunity and set the appointment. So with the 100 dollars that Harley gave and HARP matched with another 100 dollars, we were able to help pay for the initial visit so Sugar could get some much needed medical attention. Mrs Prescott was so gracious,"Thank you and God's Blessings to you all for the wonderful help you have given us in our time of need. You are indeed on my list of who will be getting help from me in the future". The Prescott's are new to the town of Waycross and were very appreciative of our services. We will follow up with Sugar's condition and maybe get a picture of her with her family and post on the site.
HARP is dedicated to helping famlies with animals in need, when we are able to. We encourage Spay and Neuter to help with the animal population.
